Two men have been arrested after an alleged kidnapping in South Auckland this morning.
Sergeant Dave Paea said at around 6.47am, police were notified of a possible kidnapping event, after a phone call from a business on Roscommon Rd in Clendon Park.
“Police attended the scene and found the victim, who told us that she had been kidnapped, and that her kidnappers had also stolen her vehicle and were in possession of a firearm.”
He said police spotted the vehicle on Kerrs Rd in Papatoetoe, and the police Eagle helicopter began tracking it. The vehicle wasn’t pursued but did begin to be driven dangerously.
It crashed into several vehicles and eventually came to a stop on Hillside Rd, near the intersection with Pah Rd.
Paea said no one was injured and a firearm wasn’t found inside the vehicle.
Police are considering charges.
