Pedestrian critically injured after crash in Auckland’s Mt Albert

A pedestrian has been critically injured after a crash in Auckland’s Mt Albert.

The crash, involving a car and a pedestrian, was reported to police at around 4.47pm on New North Rd near Ballast Lane.

“At this stage police can advise that the pedestrian is in a critical condition,” a police spokesperson said.

They said New North Rd is closed at the intersections with Mount Albert Rd and McLean St.

“Diversions are in place as the serious crash unit will be examining the scene.

“Motorists in the area are advised to expect delays on their commute this evening.”

St John Ambulance has been approached for comment.
