KAANAPALI (HawaiiNewsNow) – A judge set the bail at $500,000 for a suspect accused of murder on Tuesday.
Police officials say 46-year-old Seniola Kafoa Jr. is accused of stabbing to death 53-year-old Sione Paletua of Wailuku last Saturday on Honoapi’ilani Highway in Kaanapali.
Kafoa Jr. has been charged with second-degree murder.
Officials say Paletua was found unresponsive with severe arm injuries on Honoapiilani Highway in Kaanapali on Saturday.
A witness reported seeing a man standing over the victim’s body before driving off.
Officials said Kafoa Jr. was arrested four hours later.
No word yet on a motive for the attack. This investigation is ongoing.
