Vehicle crashes into Auckland pond overnight

A vehicle plunged into a pond in the Auckland suburb of Mt Wellington overnight.

Police were called to the pond on Aranui Rd at around 1.25am after reports a vehicle had crashed into it.

According to a police spokesperson, “no one was inside the vehicle” when emergency services arrived.

“Inquiries remain ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.”
